About Hypnosis: FAQ

Harnessing Hypnosis for Clarity, Regulation & Performance

Hypnosis is a focused, evidence-informed method for working with attention, stress response, habits, and subconscious patterning. Rather than relying solely on conscious willpower, hypnosis supports change by working with the deeper systems that drive behavior, emotional regulation, and decision-making under pressure.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and heightened concentration. In this state, the nervous system is more regulated and the subconscious mind becomes more accessible. You remain fully aware and in control throughout the process. This focused state allows for targeted work with habits, stress responses, confidence, and automatic patterns that often operate beneath conscious awareness.

Why Hypnosis Works:

Hypnosis is effective because it works at the level where most stress responses, habits, and performance patterns actually live — below conscious effort. Key reasons include:

  • Access to the Subconscious Patterning

Much of human behavior is driven by learned automatic responses. Hypnosis allows direct engagement with these patterns in a structured, goal-focused way.

  • Reduction of Internal Resistance

The nervous system is designed to maintain familiar patterns, even when they are no longer helpful. Hypnosis helps reduce this internal resistance so change can occur with less mental friction.

  • Support Neuroplasticity

The brain is capable of forming new neural pathways throughout life. Hypnosis supports this process by reinforcing new responses, perspectives, and behavioral pathways.

  • Stress Reduction and Metal Clarity

Sessions promote a regulated nervous system state, which supports improved focus, emotional stability, and clearer decision-making.

Frequently asked questions

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural, focused state of attention and relaxation where the subconscious mind becomes more receptive to positive change. It’s similar to the mental state you experience when deeply focused, daydreaming, or fully absorbed in a task. Hypnosis supports behavior change, stress regulation, and mindset shifts.

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes. Hypnosis is considered safe when facilitated by a properly trained professional. It is a natural state of consciousness that people enter and exit regularly throughout the day. You are never unconscious, and you remain aware of yourself and your surroundings.

Will I loose control during hypnosis?

No. You remain fully aware and in control during a hypnosis session. You cannot be made to do anything against your will, values, or beliefs. You can accept or reject any suggestion at any time.

How does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis works by utilizing the power of suggestion to change certain thinking patterns or behaviors in the subconscious mind.

Can hypnosis make me do something I don't want to do?

No. Hypnosis cannot override your morals, boundaries, or personal values. It works by supporting changes you consciously want to make and reinforcing your own internal goals.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies by individual and by goal. Some clients notice change after one session, while others benefit from multiple sessions to reinforce lasting patterns. For deeper or long-standing goals, we typically recommend a commitment of a minimum of five sessions to allow the work to fully integrate and stabilize. Recommendations are discussed after your first session based on your specific needs and objectives.

Are online and virtual hypnosis sessions as effective as in-person sessions?

Yes. Virtual sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions. Hypnosis works through focused attention, not physical proximity. As long as you are in a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted, the effectiveness is the same. Many clients prefer virtual sessions for convenience.

What should I expect in a session?

You should expect a calm and welcoming environment, a few moments to chat and catch up, and then you get to relax for about 30 to 90 minutes. During that time, I will guide you towards positive change.

Is this therapy or medical treatment?

No. Hypnotherapy is not medical care, psychotherapy, or psychiatric treatment. It is a complementary, goal-focused modality used to support stress regulation, behavior change, mindset shifts, and performance clarity. If you require medical or mental health treatment, you should seek support from a licensed provider.

Do I need a medical or mental health referral to receive hypnotherapy?

In accordance with Florida Hypnosis Law, if you are seeking hypnosis support for a diagnosed medical, dental, or mental health condition, a signed, written referral from your licensed healthcare provider is required before beginning sessions.

If you are currently under the care of a medical or mental health professional for the condition you wish to address with hypnotherapy, please obtain this written referral prior to moving forward with services.

For non-diagnosed, performance-based, stress-related, habit, or mindset-focused goals, a referral is not required.

What types of concerns do people work on with hypnotherapy?

Clients commonly seek support for stress, burnout, emotional regulation, confidence, sleep, habits, focus, performance blocks, and mindset-related challenges. Many also work on decision-making under pressure, restoring internal clarity, navigating transitions, and strengthening self-trust in demanding environments. Each session is personalized to the individual.

Is my information confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is extremely important. All sessions and communications are kept confidential within the limits of the law, safety requirements, and our Privacy Policy.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. Late cancellations and missed sessions are charged in full.

Do you offer refunds?

Digital products are non-refundable. Sessions are non-refundable once delivered. Full details are outlined in the Terms of Service.
